Let me tell you a story.

1

A sense of alienation, of being away from one’s hometown, of dealing with the struggles of an unfamiliar society, this work is a response to the process of adapting to a new environment, of looking for comfort. Inspiration by experience, expressing moments that have marked an understanding of the past and influenced my present, this work connects my memories. Surrounded by people with different backgrounds, my uncertainty comes from the blending of my worldview with the divert views, hence defining myself through thoughts shared with people. Showing my sentiment and thoughts by storytelling through animation, which investigates the areas of being and becoming, time, space, motion and change, and inviting people to explore the uncertainty of my inner world.

My artistic practice focuses on self-reflection, the continuity of story development and the behavior of storytelling. By forming a series of animations based on my own experiences, this work encourages viewers to create a sense of shared experience with me.

“The storyteller takes what he tells from experience – his own or that reported by others. And he in turn makes it the experience of those who are listening to his tale.”
