Passing on the love - the warmth in the hands
These works are mainly displayed in the form of tapestries, and the primary material is wool. The wool is soft, and I hope that the temperature of the work can be conveyed by touch.
I was pregnant during the creation. As my body changed, I could feel the new baby growing inside me. At the same time, the fibre tapestry became a connection with my future child, and I wanted to convey my love for her through the tapestry.
The making of the tapestry is a process that slowly takes shape over time, in the same way that conception does, and the coincidence of the two trajectories brings together the processes of creation and birth. Through these processes, I became acutely aware of the growth of all things and the passage of time and that the creation of new life is a process of miracle-making.
