Through this project I found myself concentrating on ways to turn two-dimensional drawings of the human figure into three-dimensional sculptures using mild steel metal rods. Exploring the combination of drawing and sculpture I produced life drawings of friends, highlighting certain areas of their bodies. These images were then reproduced into line drawings to represent a loose skeletal form and in turn became the bases of my sculptures. I am interested in line, balance, shape, size and repetition and have explored these using basic metal processes such as cutting, bending and welding.
