This semester my focus has been on the creation of abstract paintings comprising considerable depth and dimension with the use of process and colour. I wanted to carry on from last semester, looking at the thought process and how the mind is affected by colour and emotion. I have been looking at creating this in an abstract way focusing on size, shape, saturation and colour.
An important factor has been both the control and the lack of control I exercised when working on these paintings and adapting to all of the variables, which influenced both the way I thought, and thus also the outcome of each painting. Throughout the process I found that my subconscious would lead me to organic patterns and imagery. This project has given me a good insight into how I think, and I want the colour, shape and size to affect what the viewer sees and feels about my paintings.
