“What is it that we are touching when we touch a thing crafted by someone else’s hands?”
— Melissa Susan Rogers (‘Soft Circuitry: Methods For Queer and Trans Feminist Maker Cultures’, 2017)

"All The Things I Should Have Said – But Never Did" reveals a series of texts taken partly from my old journal entries or written from a stream of consciousness. It explores the relationships of people whom I am close to and the moments we have shared.

The work considers crafting methods such as knitting that is then hand-wrapped in yarn. It is the physical wrapping of these memories. The connection between craft and gendered practices comes from its connection between the hand, the body, and the mind. This work is a direct line between my mind and hand(s). The work is for those I’ve lost, whom I’ve loved, and those who I can’t imagine my life without.

I saw you for the first time in a while and I sat and stared at your reflection because I couldn't stomach looking at you in the eye.

It makes me think I would know you better if you were a stranger, but I can't think of the last time I told you I loved you and I meant it.

Maybe if I told you I loved you then, it could be something that we laughed about.
