Virtually Veiled Vessels
Acrylic, MDF, LED lights, polylactide (PLA)
The vessels are stagnant and encased; the image they’re presenting is only an encrypted state of unknown entities derived from the very depths of cybernetic paranoia. I have developed the vessels through modern approaches to metaphysical materiality, using 3D modelling and printing to produce works influenced by the future autonomy of mechanized fabrication and the sociological effects of digital progression. Futures appear to become bleak as fears of impotence in labour and practice come to light through the advancement of artificial intelligence. The prospect of unavoidable change creates a narrative for this advancement. A narrative that shifts, writhes, and grows as panic spreads from group to mass.
My ancestry and research in alchemy and mysticism have manifested a great interest in the occult and symbolic esotericism, more so how word of mouth adapts and evolves into a fear-imbued tale/mythos to pass on through generations.
Anthropomorphisms as described by their respective binding sigils help disconnect the interpreted evils from the perception of humans, what is represented is an encryption of information for the benefit and livelihood of mankind.
