“To preserve and revive the useful.”

Working with the movement of Arte Povera, chaos, order and the random, are conscious themes implemented through the transformation of discarded materials. The pieces are discrete but cohere visually and thematically, each energised by the resourceful nature I inhibit, allowing the readymade to relish in their potential.

The extension of life is highlighted through the material limits and alchemical configurations like that of bleach and tile grout, combined with staining, slicing, sewing, and, completed by stretching. Material decay is encouraged, whilst mending and stored assemblage allows for a deeper understanding of the artefacts' potential, and this simultaneously connects the discarded material to its prior landscape, similarly to the circle of life.

The pieces evoke investigation and analysis due to the turbulent, exhaustive materiality engrossed within each innately discovered support, allowing for a perpetual nod to the original painting derived for renewal.

Latency speaks to the potential of the readymade.
